Though I call this a secret, it’s not really a secret secret.

Do you want to dramatically sculpt your body and see those killer results that the serious, competitive bodybuilders achieve? Then you need to focus on your preparation, and in particular, on your mental approach to your workout. Before you start lifting, start by getting yourself in the right frame of mind. Prepare your mind, then develop your body.

The first mental body building technique is a simple one: create a positive attitude. Negativity doesn’t only take a serious toll on your mind, but it can have a negative impact on your body as well. Don’t let a negative outlook affect your focus and concentration. Approach your body building regiment with a positive attitude for the best results. Look forward to each and every workout, and if you find yourself walking into the gym with something other than a positive frame of mind, simply stop, take a moment to assess your outlook, find the cause of your negative feelings, and then replace those thoughts with positive ones.

Once you’ve committed to maintaining a positive frame of mind, my second technique is visualization. Exercising the mind as well as your body is my third technique. Outside of the gym, stimulate your mind. Don’t focus intently on building your body and then allow your brain to turn into mush! Prepare yourself mentally before you begin your physical workout. Neglecting to do so will prohibit you from achieving your potential. Don’t expect the best results unless your mind is prepared also.
